According to OAG, a global provider of digital flight information, there are currently no other non-stop services between Iraq and Ukraine.
Kiev Boryspil International Airport added that the route’s launch came as a result of the active development of relations between Ukraine and Iraq.
The airport described the flight as symbolically heralding the start of cooperation within the spheres of culture and tourism between the two countries. Kiev Boryspil also noted that the first flight had carried passengers who had never visited Ukraine before.
The flight distance between the two airports is 2,190 km, taking an average flight time of three hours and 40 minutes.
