Middle East Airport’s Performance

According to Airports Council International (ACI), in September, Middle Eastern airports recorded a decline of 0.8 percent compared to the same period IN 2016.

For the year-to-date, there was an increase of 5.6 percent. Passenger traffic showed mixed results as growth was affected by religious holidays. Doha resulted in an 18.4 percent drop, whereas Muscat and Kuwait recorded growth rates of 11.4 percent and 10.5 percent respectively.

In terms of air freight, Middle East grew 7.3 percent in September and for the year-to-date there was a 7.7 percent growth. The pace of growth maintained strength, Dubai grew by 5.8 percent and Doha grew by 9.2 percent. Overall, air freight delivered very strong results for the first nine months of the year. Monthly growth in Middle East maintained consistently between nine to 10 percent in the third quarter.
