STR: Occupancy for Dubai Hotels Rising

According to preliminary STR data, hotels in Dubai reported that occupancy rose 1.5 percent to 86.4 percent in January, while ADR declined 0.6 percent to USD221.79 and RevPAR increased by one percent to USD191.67.

STR’s preliminary January 2018 data indicated occupancy-driven performance growth, while supply grew by 3.6 percent and demand by 5.5 percent.

High demand was enough to outpace somewhat slowing supply growth and push a positive occupancy comparison. As a result, Dubai saw its first January increase in RevPAR since 2014.

Analysts from the hotel market data and benchmarking service further noted that the year-over-year change in supply would be the lowest for any month since November 2012.
