January Passenger Record at Jordan’s QAIA

Jordan’s Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) welcomed over 620,000 passengers during January this year, the most ever recorded for the month.

Specifically, the airport welcomed 624,207 passengers, marking a 8.2 percent year-on-year passenger number increase as compared to the 576,912 passengers received during January 2017, according to Airport International Group (AIG).

In January, the airport also registered 5,672 aircraft movements (ACM) as opposed to 5,819 ACM during 2017, affecting a 2.5 percent year-on-year drop.

Meanwhile, cargo figures increased by 14.8 percent as the airport handled 8,074 tonnes, compared to 7,036 tonnes during January 2017.

Kjeld Binger, CEO, AIG, commented, “We aim to see 2018 be yet another successful year to add to our repertoire, as we implement strategies that will improve our services and bolster our operations so that we may continue to maintain QAIA’s standing as Jordan’s prime gateway to the world.”
