Specifically, STR's preliminary June data for hotels in Abu Dhabi, UAE, saw occupancy increase by 6.4 percent to 53.8 percent during the month. Also, despite a 4.5 percent ADR decline to AED318.12 (USD86.62), RevPAR rose by 1.6 percent to AED171.31 (USD46.65).
The reported supply saw an increase of 4.2 percent while demand rose by 10.9 percent. The year-over-year demand increase, which was boosted by an earlier Eid al-Fitr, would be the highest for a June since 2014. STR analysts noted that the decrease in ADR is stable with significant supply growth as hoteliers charge less for rooms in an effort to maintain occupancy levels.
