Ras Al Khaimah to Host Challenge Tour Grand Final

Boosting the UAE’s golf scene, Ras Al Khaimah has been announced as the destination for the pivotal event of the European Challenge Tour season.

Ras Al Khaimah Challenge Tour Grand Final aims to mark the climax of the European Challenge Tour season at Troon Golf-managed Al Hamra Golf Club from October 31 – November 03.

“Sports and adventure tourism is key to Ras al Khaimah’s tourism development strategy and this golf event is an important addition to our events calendar,” explained Haitham Mattar, CEO, Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority.

The Challenge Tour Grand Final is anticipated to offer competitors the chance to graduate to the European Tour, as well as offer a prize fund of USD515,000. The Challenge Tour’s season-long rankings will now be known as the Road to Ras Al Khaimah with players competing throughout the 29-event season to try to win a spot. Only the top 45 ranked players will be eligible for the season finale.

Those players are due to be promoted to play on European Tour while an additional Road to Ras Al Khaimah Bonus Pool of USD100,000 is to be divided between the top three ranked players.
